Description: | Upper half missing. General type as P 24316 (ΣΑ 2526), as preserved: This is the characteristic general type for the large proportion of the lekythoi from this group. Bell mouth with variations in height and spread; lip usually reserved, occasionally glazed. Disk foot of varying thickness; below picture either one or two reserved lines. Added colors more or less well preserved. Only substantial variations are noted in the following descriptions. Pair of thin red lines below picture. Scene: man (Herakles?) on couch; woman standing at its foot; Maenad on donkey on each side. Cf. P 24409 (ΣΑ 2619). | |
