Title:   Black Figure Lekythos Fragment

Description:   Mouth, neck, handle, chips from foot missing. General type as P 24316 (ΣΑ 2526): This is the characteristic general type for the large proportion of the lekythoi from this group. Bell mouth with variations in height and spread; lip usually reserved, occasionally glazed. Disk foot of varying thickness; below picture either one or two reserved lines. Added colors more or less well preserved. Only substantial variations are noted in the following descriptions.
Shoulder: dots(?) above rays.
Above scene: double row of dots. Under the foot, four lines radiating from the depression at the center; cf. P 24411 (ΣΑ 2621).
Scene: Theseus kneeling on one knee right binding the bull; garments hanging in field.
Same hand as P 24411 (ΣΑ 2621).
Context:   Well beneath Stoa gutter.
