Description: | Handle missing. General type as P 24316 (ΣΑ 2526): This is the characteristic general type for the large proportion of the lekythoi from this group. Bell mouth with variations in height and spread; lip usually reserved, occasionally glazed. Disk foot of varying thickness; below picture either one or two reserved lines. Added colors more or less well preserved. Only substantial variations are noted in the following descriptions. Top of mouth sloping outwards. Shoulder: strokes above dotted lotus bud (skipping two). Scene: youth stooping to right binding the bull; behind him, Athena; on the right youth with himation, walking away. | |
