Title:   Black Figure Lekythos Fragment

Description:   Most of body and of foot preserved. General type, as far as preserved, as P 24316 (ΣΑ 2526): This is the characteristic general type for the large proportion of the lekythoi from this group. Bell mouth with variations in height and spread; lip usually reserved, occasionally glazed. Disk foot of varying thickness; below picture either one or two reserved lines. Added colors more or less well preserved. Only substantial variations are noted in the following descriptions.
Scene: Herakles right (torso missing) grappling the lion (part of forebody missing); on the left, Iolaos right holding the club (most of head and right shoulder missing), on the right, youth in himation walking right (chest and head, half of left foot missing).
Context:   Well beneath Stoa gutter.
