Description:   Part of the large carefully made base for a black figured skyphos, probably from the White Heron (Theseus painter) workshop. Broadly projecting foot with convex profile (as e.g. CVA Robinson, fasc. 3, pl. 1). Ring above foot, painted red; around lower wall, reserved zone with alternating red and black short tongues.
No other fragments of just this shape and style were noted.
Context:   Well beneath Stoa gutter.
