Description: | Part of center of floor and beginning of stem showing reserved bands and moulding. Left hand and knee of a warrior holding a shield, seen in three-quarter view; decorated on the inside with a wreath and around it a spiral band. The warrior is attacking an opponent with a spear (part of it seen across the shield), whose right leg only is preserved. For the same decoration of a shield interior see Pfuhl (1923), 584 (Suessula P., ARV p. 853, no. 6). | |
