Title:   Amphora: West Slope

Description:   Mended from many fragments; one handle, much of lower wall and other fragments missing. Grooved base and rim; Satyr heads at lower handle attachments; neck heavy in proportion to body.
Decoration in added clay and white, with a little incision. On shoulder, checkerboard panel between crosshatching; on neck, necklace, with rosettes above.
Glaze red to black, poor and pitted. Decoration in part worn off.
Notes:   In Lab. June 2016 for desalination.

Context:   Phaidon Street, cistern, north chamber.
