Title:   Black Figure Pelike Fragment

Description:   Mended from many pieces; most of the rim and neck and part of the shoulder preserved, with beginning of one handle.
A. Herakles, right, wearing lion skin; part of his head and lower part of body destroyed. Head of Amazon, left, with crested helmet and upper part of her shield.
B. Dionysos and satyr, facing; heads and shoulders preserved.
White for fruit on vines in field, strap over Herakles' shoulder and dots on Dionysos' dress. Red for Herakles' belt, for rim of Amazon's shield, for beards of Dionysos and satyr, for Dionysos's garland and dots on his dress; also for line around neck of vase above panels. Debased guilloche at top of each panel. Narrow reserved band around inside of lip.
Inside glazed to start of shoulder.
