Title:   Black Figure Lekythos Fragment

Description:   Mended from six pieces; the foot restored in plaster. Mouth, most of back and part of side and front walls missing.
Herakles wrestling with boar between Athena on horseback and another rider (only the feet of horse and part of garment preserved), facing.
White for flesh of Athena, mane and outline of underside of body of boar, Herakles' club and strap(?) over his shoulder, fruit of vines in field. Red for parts of Athena's helmet, mane of horse, stripes on garments, dots and stripe on boar, Herakles' fillet and two horizontal lines over the glaze below the scene. Shoulder decorated with debased lotus bud pattern.
Glaze fired red in back.
