Title:   Black Figure Skyphos

Description:   Mended from many pieces; fragments missing from walls, foot and rim; restored in plaster. At the top of the figured zone, below the lip, a vine-dot border.
Sides A and B the same: in the center, Dionysos(?) reclining left, holding a cornucopia. On each side of him a ram, right; to the extreme left, a satyr dancing right.
White for Dionysos' fillet, spots on his garment and couch and the contents of the cornucopiae. Also for the rams' muzzles, horns and belly stripes, and for the satyrs' tails. Bands of glaze above and below the scene.
Reserved: the inside of the handles, a narrow band on inner edge of rim, a broad band at the junction of foot and body, decorated with dots and narrow bands of glaze above the foot. Reserved also, the resting surface and the space within the ring foot, this space decorated with two concentric circles of glaze and a central dot.
The foot is flat on the top outside; inside, high and flaring.
Dull brown wash. The black glaze grayed and mottled and fired red over the lower part of the inside as if from stacking.
