Title:   Amphora: West Slope

Description:   One handle and chips from rim missing; mended and restored in plaster. Flaring ring foot with scraped groove on outside; squat body; high neck; groove at base of neck; overhanging rim; twisted handles with plastic decoration at base. Shoulder decorated with alternating panels of concentric rectangles and checkerboard patterns, done in buff and white. Neck decoration, from bottom: row of white dots between bands of buff; wider band of white, on which rest buff curlicues; dolphins in buff alternating with white stars and rosettes; lugs decorated with crosses in buff and white.
Orange clay. Reddish-brown glaze, peeling in places. Decoration in white paint and buff slip.
