Title:   Lagynos: West Slope

Description:   Most of underside, half of body, handle and mouth missing. Body partly restored. Moulded ring foot; flat resting surface; lower wall straight, flaring out to meet convex shoulder wall at sharp angle; groove at bottom of shoulder, two grooves at base of thin neck.
Decoration of shoulder: area divided into two registers by groove. Upper register: incised running spiral. Lower register: ivy garland with incised stems, tan leaves over painted white; at lower border, white dots between thin scraped grooves.
Decoration of neck: spearhead necklace with incised band; pendents attached by incised zigzag line; tan pendents with white dots at tips and white dots on their bodies; two incised ties at ends, with trailing tips.
Fine, hard, slightly micaceous reddish-yellow fabric (5YR 6/6). Shiny black glaze.
