Description:   Sub-Mycenaean neck handled amphora. Cut off at bottom of neck, and preserved below, except for a few missing sherds and both handles broken off at handle attachments. 16 non-joining sherds and many flakes.
Pot decorated with two horizontal parallel bands just above widest diameter of pot, and a thick horizontal band low down towards foot. Front panel above bands and below neck decorated with a horizontal figure-eight, the ends of which do not touch ( ). Below both handle attachments the lower half of a similar vertical figure-eight. Bottom fragment of neck black. On back, in panel between bands and neck, traces of an another horizontal figure-eight.
Glaze not well preserved on back. Glaze dark brown to light reddish-brown. Clay light pink-buff.
Skeletal Inv. No. AA 339, cremation of male (?) 17-19 years old.

Context:   Roman Temple, south half; fill south of temple crosswall and north of Polygonal Wall. Layer 37a.
