Description: | Five joining and one non-joining fragment preserving fragmentary open vessel; complete profile preserved. Probably intended to be a one-handled cup, subsequently used as test-piece. Flat base, thin-walled; curved body, offset vertical rim terminating in plain rounded lip. Paint on interior and exterior fired red; interior painted solid. Exterior painted with broad intersecting bands. Portion of underside also painted. Clay body evenly fired close to reddish yellow 5YR 7/6-6/6. Reserved surfaces closer to pink 7.5 YR 7/4. AS 874. | |
