Description: | Mended from many pieces; nearly the entire rim, and fragments from the body missing. A large plate, the floor of which is slightly convex, dropping away toward the outer edge. Vertical rim, nowhere preserved to its ful height; at one point on the exterior face, a relief mask. At the center of the interior an impressed foot; (no letters?) <graphic>; then three groups of concentric grooves, between the outer of which light rouletting. Heavy, high base ring. Dark buff clay with fine particles of mica. ADDENDA Italian provincial, e.g. Po Valley? JWH Desalted and remended in Conservation Lab [Sept. 1991]. | |
