Title:   Bowl Fragment

Description:   Single piece: one side of base, with edge of emblema, mostly broken off. Shallow rounded bowl, foot ring with marked basal projection. On floor, rather off-centre, an applied roundel with raised edge bearing a groove; edge of relief bust or the like visible, with uncertain motif.
Smooth orange clay, mottled light gray. Deeper orange to gray gloss-slip all over.
Knidian (?) series (ware related to Knidian Gray Ware). The only Agora find of the class in this fabric (JWH).

Context:   Great Drain, gravel below elliptical tile drain, with coins VII-15-47 # 10-27 and VII-16-47 #1-22. Context early 1st. century A.D.
