Title:   Mug Fragment with Gouged Decoration

Description:   Five joining fragments making up over half of vessel. Base and handle missing.
Broad baggy form, low neck/rim with small splayed lip, grooved on inside. Remains of a band-like handle from outside of rim to above belly. Groove at belly; body above this covered with two sets of close-packed oblique gouging, near-vertical close to handle, with a vertical gouged leaf-spray between them.
hard-fired ware, dull brownish, with a dark brown to purple slip covering upper parts inside and out.
Mid to late IV cent. AD. Possibly non-Attic (Boiotia/Euboia?)
