Title:   Lid Fragment with Paint Decoration
Category:   Pottery
Description:   The lid rises toward the center; around its outer edge are two deep grooves from which the glaze has been scraped away. Between the grooves, alternating buff and white dots. The lid is finished by a vertical flange, decorated with a pattern of two vertical white stripes alternating with two large buff dots. On the top of the lid, a long thick white stem, with subsidiary white tendrils and two ears of wheat painted in buff, with white dots to indicate the grains.
Attic clay; glazed inside as well as out with dull brownish-black glaze.
Context:   Mixed fill.
