Title:   Dish Fragment: Late Roman Unclassified Ware

Description:   Rim to base fragment. Center of floor missing.
Flat base with slight inset. Groove on rim at lip; fine incisions mark off elements of rim on underside. Groove preserved on floor at break.
Hard-fired, orange-brown clay (one large lime eruption), slip bronze-brown on interior, dark chocolate-brown on exterior; inner surface polished and slightly glossy. Slip on exterior is matte, absorbed, with faint finger marks (?).
Conceivably Cypriot Red Slip Ware (not burned African ware). Shape imitates African Red Slip Ware form 67.
Context ca. A.D. 460-475 but probably residual, ca. 400 A.D.+
