Title:   Plate Fragment: Eastern Sigillata B Ware

Description:   Rim to base fragment.
Vertical rim, faintly concave, forming a sharp angle at junction with floor; low ledge like foot. Fine grooves mark off bands bearing rouletting at top and bottom of rim; pair of grooves under the carination; inset band flanked by fine grooves on inside of lip. Two small offsets/grooves flanking a broader cavity on inner face of foot. Atlante II, form 4. A forerunner of Eastern Sigillata B2 ware.
Date of Context: ca. 50-100 A.D. Plate may be slightly earlier (ca. AD. 30-50?)
