Title:   Ribbon-handled Plate Fragment
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Four joining sherds (two were added later from the lot). About two-thirds of the plate preserved with one handle.
Rim still covered with concretion. Impressions from plant fibers on the interior surface (see cons. report).
Exterior walls irregular with shallow ribbing from turning process. Base with string marks, untrimmed.
Two red glaze bands, one on floor and one just below rim.
Light orange-buff fabric; glaze orange to brown.
Conservation Status:   Finished
Context:   Pyre J 2:26.
Handling:   Caution! Wear gloves. High levels of lead were detected in the soil around this artifact.
