Title:   Black Glaze Lekythos

Description:   Mouth and handle missing; small gap at shoulder, chipped foot.
Cylindrical lekythos. Scene framed at top by two diluted lines and a row of double dots above, at bottom black band flanked by diluted line. Shoulder: ray and tongue pattern.
In foreground, chariot at gallop to right with charioteer holding the reins. In background, armed warrior running right, toward goal post. Red: belt and fillet of charioteer; stripes on warrior's armor, helmet, and shield; mane and breast band of horse; bands of goal post. Added white: charioteer's chiton; warrior's baldric and plume of helmet; goal post; pendants of horse breast band. Fine incisions.
Foot in two degrees, painted torus below reserved vertical element. Underside reserved with central depression.

Most likely an apobates scene.
