Title:   Red Figure Bell Krater Fragments

Description:   Late bell krater, lacking part of base and almost all of the upper body. One small fragment from side B does not join. High, hollow, moulded base. Reserved lines at bottom and top of the wide shallow concave moulding; also at point of juncture of base and body. Maeander, interrupted by saltire crosses, between reserved lines below figure scene. Center, dividing two scenes, a large palmette. To left of palmette: A) draped woman, walking left; in front of her, the legs of a chair or stool(?). To right: B) part of a large manteled figure standing facing right.
Attic clay; glazed black inside. No relief contours.
Context:   Well, red fill.
