Description: | Foot, part of handles and part of outer edge of rim broken away. Horizontal handles. Breaks show how heavy rim was made: near the lip the body of the vase divides in two parts, one continuing to form the lip, the other projecting horizontally for ca. 0.015m. An added band of clay, extending from the lip to the edge of this projection, forms the rim. Hard black glaze mottled with red, and showing red where it has been chipped away. Inside, hatched bands; outside, wreath, in heavy buff paint. Attic clay. | |
