Title:   Black Figure Neck Amphora Fragments

Description:   Fragments a) and b) Mended from several pieces.
a) Parts of two animal bands with tips of rays below: 1) Front paws of animal right, lower part of bull and siren right. 2) Back part of bull, and most of front face panther, right.
b) Parts of two animal bands: 1) Hind part of deer, left, and hind leg of panther, right. 2) Head of front face panther, right.
c) Animal band with tips of ray pattern below: Forelegs of panther, and hind leg of bull(?), right.
Friezes separated by narrow stripes of glaze. Filling ornament: both solid incised, and dot rosettes. Incision freely used for details; rather coarse, but not inaccurate and most effective. Free use of added purple.
Attic clay, dull black glaze. Inside of pot unglazed, ribbed from wheel.
