Title:   Bowl Fragment: West Slope

Description:   Only a fragment of the center of the plate and the foot preserved. Plain ring foot, not very high; the underside of the bottom comes to a marked shallow cone.
Fine pinkish-brown clay; red and black glaze in bands. A large spot of reddish glaze in center of underside, a band of red just inside foot ring. Inside, in center a solid red circle, covering a circular groove which limits a sunburst of alternating clay-colored and white rays. Separated from this by a reserved band, a narrow band of black glaze decorated in alternating clay-colored and white.
Context:   Red pebbly fill vs. south wall of building B, level of ledge. Hellenistic fill as late as 2nd. c.
