Title:   Black Figure Cup

Description:   (Initially) a single fragment broken all around, preserves part of the stem and central medallion of a kylix. A discus-thrower, holding the discus in front of him with both hands. Sketchily drawn with but slight use of incision. Part of short, hollow stem preserved. Exterior black glazed.
Much more found in going through sherds. Parts of floor, rim, one handle and all of the other missing; restored in plaster. Broad foot with rounded edge; plain rim; edge reserved inside. Small interior medallion, discuss thrower, right, framed by two glazed bands. Exterior (both sides the same so far as preserved): beside the handles, a reclining draped figure, bearded, holding a drinking horn and looking towards the center. In the center, a figure riding on a mule, right; before and behind him, a dancing satyr. Tendrils in the field. A glaze band just below the rim, and two reserved bands on the lower wall below figured scene. Edge of foot reserved and space at top inside it.
