Title:   Amphora Fragment: West Slope

Description:   Mended from several fragments; about half the circumference of the rim preserved; partly restored in plaster. Neck with outcurving rim sharply set off from neat profiled shoulder.
Around neck, vine pattern. On shoulder, dolphins and spirals simulating waves, with added white for foam. Small white dot rosettes between dolphins.
Pinkish Attic clay. Good glaze, reddish-brown to black; black only at rim inside.
Context:   Cistern, top fill.
