Description:   The lip mended; a few fragments missing.
Squat round-bodied jug with slightly flattened bottom. Low neck and wide outward-flaring lip. No handle. Tie-holes in the lip.
Fine soft rather micaceous buff clay, which was very porous and pliable when damp in the grave and came off in soft splinters where broken. Perhaps under-baked? Handmade. The surface is mottled by a black substance; probably not glaze, but a black unlike any glaze, which has adhered to the surface of the clay.
