Title:   White Ground Alabastron Fragments: Inscribed

Description:   Broken top and bottom, and much damaged by burning; the glaze much peeled. Two panels, separated by vertical stripes, one beneath each ear, of maeander alternating with saltire cross.
A) Draped female figure, left, preserved shoulders to waist, carrying a scarf. Above her in the field the letters: <graphic>
B) A girl, right, preserved head to waist, wearing chiton, himation and kerchief. A writing tablet(?) carried by a string, in her outstretched right hand.
b) Much of the lower part found in tins, mended from several pieces. The lower parts of both figures remain, with most of the wool basket belonging to A. Lower border, maeander broken by cross-squares; then reserved and glazed bands alternating. Round bottom glazed black. All much burned and worn.
