Title:   Pyxis with Lid
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Mended from many fragments; restored in plaster. Low ring foot; in flange, part of one string-hole preserved. Lid with conically tipped handle.
Triple zigzag band between narrow stripes around body. Round eight-petalled rosette on bottom, with asterisks between tips of petals; then, narrow bands with circle of dots between; dots also on foot.
Broad and narrow stripes on lid, row of dots around edge.
Pinkish-buff clay, much grayed from burning. Lustrous black to brown glaze. Flange unglazed.
Context:   Geometric burial.
