Title:   Pointed Pyxis with Lid
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Mended from many fragments; about half the circumference of the body, but only a small part of of that of the rim, preserved. Lid nearly complete, with small ridged handle. Fragment from rim and wall separate.
Four decorated bands separated by narrow stripes: single zigzag top and bottom; between, chevron, and quadruple zigzag. On narrow flange, glazed only around inner edge, two single string holes preserved (one of these in the loose fragment). Single string hole in lid, opposite side broken.
Pinkish-buff clay, grayed from burning; lustrous black to red glaze.
Context:   Geometric burial.
