Title:   Amphora: West Slope

Description:   About half the body, one handle, and more than half the rim missing. Twisted handles with knobs on each side of their upper attachments. Ring foot, with a scraped groove above it. Below the lip, and at the junction of neck and shoulder, scraped grooves filled with pink. On the neck, front and back, suspended from the handles, a small wreath and a necklace of ribbons, dots and pendents. On the shoulder, dolphins alternating with dot rosettes above wave pattern.
Thinned clay for most of the decoration; white for a ribbon of the necklace, for the dot rosettes and for the filling of the wave pattern.
The glaze metallic; a good deal grayed.
Context:   Cistern, lower Hellenistic fill.
