Title:   Amphora: West Slope
ΤΙΤΛΟΣ:   Αμφορέας με διακόσμηση κλιματίδας και δελφίνια 250 π.Χ. περίπου

Description:   Fragments from the lower body and shoulder missing; most of one handle and part of the other. Restored in plaster. High moulded foot with a scraped groove around it. Two scraped grooves below the lip; another at junction of body and shoulder. Twisted handles, with reliefs, women's head, at the lower attachments. On neck, front and back, festoons of grapevine pattern in thinned clay paint. On shoulder, above wave pattern, dolphins, in thinned clay, alternating with white dot rosettes. The waves filled in with white, and purple over the white. Below, two rows of dots, one thinned clay, one white.
Black glaze, fairly firm.
ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ:   Αμφορέας κατηγορίας δυτικής κλιτύος. Λείπουν θραύσματα από το σώμα και τον ώμο του αγγείου. Στον ώμο, πάνω από τα κυμάτια, διακρίνεται παράσταση δελφινιών.
Context:   Cistern, lower Hellenistic fill.
