Description: | About half the neck and an odd piece of the lip (b) preserved. Rather short neck, straight and very wide, with rounded lip. Upper handle attachment preserved half way up the neck; the handle seems to have been double. Rim glazed save for a reserved band filled with dots; shoulder glazed black. On the neck, geometric patterns: dotted lozenges, hatched triangles, lozenges, etc.; part of a concentric circle series surrounded by dots. On the non-joining fragment which must come near the other handle, the head and neck of a horse. Traces of a thick creamy slip where the glaze is thin and peeled; due to a different exposure in firing? | |
