Title:   Black Figure Oinochoe Fragments

Description:   The base preserved; more than half the lip, and the handle; much missing from the walls; nothing of the shoulder remains. Tall shape with trefoil mouth (Type V). Broad foot, flat beneath, slightly rounded above. Rising handle, round in section. Traces of burning. Panel bordered either side with a double row of dots; none of upper edge preserved.
Scene: a female figure (white foot and hand preserved) riding, right, on a mule. In front of the animal, a satyr kneeling on one knee (running?); behind the animal, traces of a standing figure. Tendrils in field. Purple for band around pot below panel, beard of satyr, border(?) on garment of standing figure, stripe on mule's mane. White (besides the woman's flesh) for the mule's muzzle, a stripe down his front, and dots on the bridle.
