Description: | Broken all around. Back roughly finished. Fragment of a large painted pinax, possibly a metope. Most of preserved surface covered with metallic black glaze. At one edge trace of painted design: an incised line and a line of added red, then a reserved space with three lines of dilute glaze. Clay coarse and crumbly, with marks of straw. Cf. P 1125 bis (Δ 461). | |
Context: | Among small loose stones, roundish hole cut in red. Disturbed by late wall. Sherds chiefly Greek, 6th. c. and earlier. | |
