Title:   Black Figure Skyphos Fragments

Description:   About half of rim and some of body preserved. Base missing.
A) Lion, right, seated on haunches; most of head missing. Hind quarters and tail go under handle of which stubs are preserved.
B) Head of a lion, right (supplements lion on A)), and head and shoulders of a panther, left, the head facing. Rosettes above and between animals. Below, rays. The black glaze very badly worn, so that in places only the outline is preserved. Red for breast and belly-stripe of lions, for forehead, "nose" and shoulder of panther, and for a band that runs around vase just below lip. On top of rim black dots (also on handle, part of which is preserved in a non-joining fragment). Interior black glaze almost entirely worn off.
Pale micaceous clay.
