Title:   Black Figure Neck Amphora Fragments

Description:   Two fragments preserving part of the shoulder and lip of a pseudo-Panathenaic amphora. Echinus lip.
On neck, lotus and palmette. Tongue pattern bordering upper edge of panel; in panel, Athena left, in full panoply. Added white and red.
Mended in antiquity; one hole for a lead clamp remains.
ADDENDA To the left of Athena, a votary holding springs (only parts of the springs remain) [JDB, Summer 1953].
Context:   Hole. Dug stereo over bedrock. Early sherds.
