Description: | Fragment from an upper wall. Hermes, wreathed and filleted, wearing a chlamys clasped round his shoulders, and holding the caduceus in his upraised right hand, moves left, looking back right, his left hand outstretched. Immediately following him, left, are the heads of two horses and above, at the upper right edge of the fragment, is part of a large wing. In the field behind Hermes are four Doric columns crowned by an entablature, the columns cut off short above the figures. Apotheosis of Herakles. Partial relief contour. White for the berries of Hermes' wreath; white with yellow over for his fillet, and for details of the harness of the horses. White for the building, with the members of the order indicated in yellow overpainting. | |
