Title:   Foot and Plinth Fragments of Colossal Figure
Category:   Sculpture
Description:   Parts of left foot of a colossal figure.
a) First three toes of foot. Edge of plinth to proper right appears to be original. Very precise work; surface extremely fresh. Traces of red (?) on toenail.
b) Middle part of foot. Outer edge slightly raised. The plinth is finished on both sides, hence an individual plinth for each foot?
Foot of Dionysos? Cf. Pausanias I, 14, 1.
Pentelic marble.
Context:   a) (ΩΔ 229) From destruction debris of Odeion to north of Odeion, west side.
b) (Ι 1640) From deep down in south wall of tower of Late Roman Fortification Wall at S.W. corner of Library of Pantainos.
