Agora Object: S 301
Inventory Number:   S 301
Section Number:   Ζ 197
Title:   Head of Male Figure
Category:   Sculpture
Description:   Small head, broken off at the back just below the chin; the surface badly damaged, nose, mouth and chin presenting scarcely any worked surfaces.
The head is that of a youth, bent slightly to his left; the hair apparently bound by a fillet, though the surface is much worn. The hair, which extends in a heavy mass down the back of the neck, is divided at the left side, exposing the carefully worked ear. Round the face were small curls, in back the hair appears to have been only roughly blocked out.
Pentelic marble.
Drilled for setting on base January 1954.
