Title:   Head of Female Figure

Description:   Broken at neck with nose missing; chips from chin, ears and back of headdress. The hair is parted in the middle and drawn back from the face in soft waves. It is mostly covered with a sakkos, around which is worn a narrow stephane or band.
Surface of face highly polished; deep drill marks in eyes, nostrils and corners of mouth.
Pentelic marble.
Drilled for setting on base December 1960.
Context:   Early Byzantine fill north of retaining wall.
