Description: | Head, set in socket, missing; socket fully preserved. Feet and lower part of drapery broken off, also upper part of right arm and most of the fingers of the right hand. Left forearm and hand largely missing. Standing draped male figure, with weight on right foot, throwing left knee slightly forward. He wears himation, one end of which is thrown over the left shoulder and held at the chest by the right hand. The other end falls to the ground in heavy folds over the left arm, which is at his side, extended slightly forward. The drapery is fairly good for the period, especially at the back. Pentelic marble. Head S 1604 (Ν 863) attached for display in August 1957. | |
