Title:   Statuette of Herakles

Description:   Broken off at knees. Unfinished.
Herakles facing, with his head turned to the right, and looking upward. His left hand rests on some indistinguishable object; his right is extended as if to throw something. He is nude except for the lion's skin knotted by the forepaws on his chest, and with the head worn as a cap. The figure has not been completely freed from the marble; the ends of several drill holes can be seen behind the face; the back is roughly blocked out and left unfinished.
Pentelic marble.
Context:   Well, late 5th century context.
