Title:   Stamped Amphora Handle: Thasian

Description:   Fragment of upper part and curve of broad arched handle.
Micaceous coarse greyish-red clay, yellowish at surface and partly blackened.
Fresh impression of which a little of the lower edge is incomplete and a little of the right edge is broken away; caduceus.
Vase shaped like a wine glass with volute handles curling below the rim.
Nikanor may be the name of which part is preserved on SS 809. Not found otherwise on Thasian seals, but the Hermitage has three south Russian with this name.
