Title:   Stamped Amphora Handle: Knidian
Category:   SS Misc.
Description:   In shape resembles the slim Knidian type; part of rim preserved bent outward and rolled. Whole handle crossed by a series of fine cracks.
Fairly fine red clay with greyish ring round core; thick crteam slip with red stain below rim.
Circular impression incomplete on one side. Apparently from a much worn or dirty die; almost nothing discernible.

Notes:   Msc: SS 01310 seems to be other hdl of same pot (same crackling);
same die anyway; it's chipped, but the srf is bet; both prob from same
(or closely related) die as SS 00885(VG)*
Rdg: one horn of bouk seems to be identifiable(VG 27.x.49)*
Dte: the date there given is ppatly too early; see further nt 5
at end of typed report on the Index (of Feb 1937), prob 2nd 1/4
of 2c BC*
Dip: red stain below rim*
