Title:   Stamped Amphora Handle: Thasian

Description:   Part of curve and lower part of broad ribbed handle.
Micaceous buff clay.
The attribute, a ladle, resembles Pridik (1917), nos. 30, 31, pl. V, especially the former. On the former, the text (p. 41, no. 107) notes that the handle of the landle ends in a swan's head, like many ladles found in South Russia. The handle on yhis seal is mostly missing.
Heragoras occurs as a Rhodian name in the Nilsson (1909) and in the Pridik(1917). Not in index of the latter as Thasian.
