Title:   Stamped Amphora: Corinthian A

Description:   Jar, mended from many pieces; a good deal of the mouth and neck, the lower half of one handle, and considerable portions of the body missing; although most of the body is missing, preserved fragments give enough so that there can be no doubt as to shape; moderately tall narrow neck, or which upper 0.06m. (i.e. the mouth) is slightly thickened; fat egg-shaped body with pointed toe; handles circular in section, narrowing noticeably toward bottom; restored in plaster.
Rather gritty dark buff clay.
On top of one handle, a narrow rectangular stamp; other handle not stamped; retrograde.
