Category:   Terracotta
Description:   Upper part, right side of Papposilenos with flowing beard.
Right shoulder and bent arm preserved; back and left side broken away. Top of head unmodelled.
Appears to be garlanded; uncertain whether pointed projections at temples are all ivy leaves or partly faun ears. Head sinks on breast; eyes are closed. From below broad bumpy nose, long mustache; between them wavy locks of beard flow down over folded arm. Figure appears to be clothed in some sort of thin garment which covers his fat arm with tiny folds.
Mould-made, hollow. Considerably traces on face of yellow paint overlaid (?) in places with pink; on garland, small spots of bluish green; on other parts, of white or pale greenish yellow.
Pinkish buff clay, fine particles of mica.
